The Big Ass Fan is used to improve air circulation and thermal comfort within facilities.  The Big Ass Fans moves a very large column of air very slowly, at about 3mph (4.8 kilometers/hour), or 260-280fpm.  The fans will move from 22,000cfm (6' or 1.8m diameter fan) to >200,000cfm (24' or 7.3 m diameter fan) of air, and will cover an unobstructed area of up to 20,000sq. ft. (1,858 m²) with no significant  reduction on the air velocity at the out perimeter of the column of air.

The Big Ass Fan provides a cooling breeze during the summer.  In winter, the fans effectively move warmer, drier air from the ceiling to floor level, which results in major energy savings.
